Acronym. "Dominion, United Kingdom and Empire" Shortened form of the forces fighting under the command of the British Military Command structure during the Second World War (1939-1945) Usage: "DUKE forces were involved in the fighting in Burma, as a coalition of all the nations in the soon-to-be commonwealth were represented in the theatre" Usage: "The elements of bomber command that pulled off the famous dambuster raids were drawn from all areas of the air forces; it was a real DUKE effort". Can also be expanded to include the exile forces fighting on the allies side, where an X is suffixed, becoming DUKEx .
