Macedonian are a peoples and nationality originaly living in Western Balkans. Today, only around 1,5 million of the overall ~5 million Macedonians still live in their origin country Macedonia. The reason for this is a history of persecution, oppression, exploitation and poverty. Still today Macedonians experience racism, hate, imperialism and oppression. History revisionism is a common phenomenon and problem within the Balkans. Especially Macedonians, but also Greeks, describe themself as decendants of ancient Macedon and Alexander the Great. In reality, the Macedon civilisation was destroyed and extincted more than 2000 years ago.
