Verb: to Sympathize Noun :a Sympathizer A misspelling of symp. The meaning has apparently taken on many lives of it's own, but the original meaning is along the lines of : One who sympathizes with someone, perhaps someone not doing well or who is upset or frustrated, or losing at a game. Stereotypically, in the voicechat of a multiplayer game, a 'white knight' 'symps' for a girl gamer, who may not have the level of skill needed to tip the scales as much as the 'young man' or 'manchild' who is harassing someone over the internet for not being good enough at the game to silence his taking his frustration at probably being an 'incel' out on them for simply being born female. I could have given that more clarity but I think you get the idea.
