Katehomenophobia (from the Greek words κατεχόμενo = occupied, φοβία = fear) is something that many Greek Cypriots have because they are too afraid to go to the north side (aka occupied side) of Cyprus. The reason behind that is because the north side is a place that they do not know so well and they fear that something bad might happen if they go there and also because the area is under the Turkish Cypriot administration and not the Greek Cypriot. But in reality, both communities can be friendly to each other.
