A term that describes people who can only feel sexual or romantic attraction to people who do not reveal their sexual identity. The prefix agnosti- is rooted in lacking knowledge. An agnostisexual is romantically or sexually attracted to living in a world of mystery. Ignorance is bliss to an agnostisexual. Agnostisexual people are so weighed down with all the knowledge that they have of the world and they find comfort and peace in not knowing. With the many sexual identities that are out there, the agnostisexual person feels overwhelming anxiety and responsibility in respectfully addressing and responding to other people's sexual identities. Because of this worry, they lose their sexual attraction to people when they learn of someone's sexual identity. So long as the agnostisexual is enshrouded in the mystery of someone's sexual identity, they can feel a sexual or romantic connection.
