Originally used as a term to make fun of lgbtqia+ people as the joke was that there were so many terms it seemed like the mafia with its ranks. Now the term has been coined in tiktock and now is a way to tell someone you're lgbtia+ along with different names for each identity. Examples include general (gay), lieutenant (lesbian), brigadier (bisexual), major general (trans), etc.
