An umbrella term for conspiracy theories stating that a person who is very much deceased is still alive. They are very easily debunked for obvious reasons and mainly used for humorous purposes. It is named for the legendary singer Elvis Presley, who died in August 1977 after a prolonged period of declining health caused by substance abuse. Yet there are some people who insist that he's alive as a joke. (The most popular one being, "He was abducted by aliens.")
