Kemono is a unique art movement that sprouted from Japan, that traces back roughly in the late 90s. It applies traits and expressions from anime to fictional anthropomorphic beast characters. It has affected both anime lovers and the like, whom preferred the idea of anime characters that are beasts. Attraction to this may have stemmed from liking anime characters that has animal ears, tails, or hands. Furry artists from countries like Taiwan, Korea, China, Philippines are likely to be creating kemono art. People that are either artists or enthusiasts of kemono art are referred to as "kemoners". Not to be confused with kimono, a formal garment from Japan.
