To be ‘Teen-Titanified’ is when a spin-off is made for a cartoon, live-action show or movie (usually with some relatively mature themes). Said spin-off always uses a ‘chibi’ art style to depict the characters as much younger and abuses an excessive amount of crude humour to appeal to an audience significantly less mature than what the original show was intended for. The word comes from the ‘Teen-Titanification’ of the original 2003 Teen Titans when the spin-off ‘Teen Titans Go!’ was created, due to it’s success it urged many other companies to do the same with their shows, leading to a visible trend in cartoons aimed at younger viewers.
