A word that came about due to a mishearing of the lyrics of the hit song Love of the Common People by popular recording artist Paul Young. The lyric "Daddy's gonna buy you a dream to cling to" were misinterpreted erroneously as "Daddy's gonna buy you a dream liginto". Over time the word has become associated with references to the fate that brings two lovers together.
