What if'ism is the historical narrative which is intended to replace modern historians "blame history" which is intended to explain "what if" we didn't do something to elaborate on the lesser evil chosen as a form of prevention against a larger evil. Modern historians and social activist blame the British and Canadian governments for bombing German cities in World War 2. Without these bombings, German industry would have rampaged and possibly shifted the tide losing us the war costing millions of lives.
