A term that points out that adding divisive political posturing to your product alienates the bulk of the costumer base, especially when the divisive political content is explicitly added to label the old consumers racist, homophobic, transphobic, or white supremacists in an attempt to virtue signal for the company. This usually results in the creators of said product to blame racism, homophobie, transphobia, and white supremacy for the failure of the established consumers to spend money on the product after the company labeled them such.
