Savin Hill is a section of Dorchester, the largest neighborhood of Boston. It combines relative proximity to downtown Boston with a sense of distance from the city, and has the enviable combination of a hillside neighborhood of historic houses with water views and a beach, along with a subway stop nearby. Relatively safe despite proximity to other crime hotspots in the area such as the neighborhood around JFK station and Fields Corner diverse crime ridden streets. Savin Hill is diverse demographically politically economically and ethnically. Although there is dogs and dogwalkers everywhere including a pet grooming center which may or may not be indicative of the complicated gentrification this neighborhood like many in Boston and Dorchester are facing. Savin Hill has long been regarded one of the most desirable sections of Dorchester with a historically memorable contributions to the Boston oi! Punk Hardcore Black Metal Hip Hop and Trap Metal Scene with acts such as dropkick murphys , yung jah , OxO , Tør Terpenes , Țepeș and the Street Dogs
