Though unfamiliar or possibly never heard of, the name “Nickoan” belonged to a slave on the South American plantation in the 17th century. He was not remembered for anything specific outside of his suicide among others. The name was said to be a common unisex use in small villages of the African countries of Sierra Leone and Senegal and there were no mentioned specific languages or meaning associated with the name. After the passing of 18th century, there was no reference to any person with the name and it is believed to be a name of the “uncivilized” past.
