The STG 44 was the first assault rifle ever. STG stands for "sturmgewehr" and translates to "storm rifle". It is pronounced "shterm-geh-vehr". The STG 44 is often mistaken for the AK-47, due to its appearance, but they both operate differently. Thankfully, it was not mass produced, so not many of these weapons saw action, because if it was mass produced, it would've most likely changed the out come of WWII.
