The United States of America (abbreviated U.S.A) or for short, United States or America (abbreviated U.S.), is a country located in the middle of North America. It is the 3rd largest country in terms of area and population. It’s citizens are referred to as ‘Americans’. America also refers to the Americas - North America and South America combined. People in America are also referred to as Americans, though they’ll usually call themselves by their nationalities (i.e Mexican, Colombian, Brazilian). Because U.S. Citizens are called ‘Americans’, it is hard to differentiate between the Americans of the U.S. citizens and Americans of the Americas.
