It is a word from the country of the Philippines that stands for the phrase: "Mare, ito ang latest..." or "Mare, ano ang latest?" which is asking and rendering information, whether it is useless or not, as long as it is a gossip. It implies to a person who is fond of gossips, particularly Filipino women who don't have any workloads and has a habit of gossiping.
