When people recognize that autism and disability are a part of the human diversity. When people understand that autistics are no different than everyone else. When people find support groups and accommodations that help autistics become the best people they can be. When people are OK with working with autistics instead of trying to "cure" them. When people understand that they need to have patience when interacting with autistics. When people celebrate and are proud of who autistics are. Autism Acceptance centers the voices of autistics. It celebrates the autistic culture, and tells people that autistics are valuable to families, communities, and to the entire world exactly as they are EVERY SINGLE DAY (not just on the month of April). Autism Acceptance is when people create a better, more fair, and more inclusive world for everyone (with and without autism).
