Thinking you're a nice carefree person when you're part of the problem. Old example: Little-House-On-The-Prarie-type European settlers going west to "Put in a solid day's work and carve out a new life" while being part of the mass genocide of Indigenous Americans. New example: People moving away from California because they "Couldn't stand it anymore" and ruining the property values and job markets of their new location while transplanting the California-style politics they claim they were getting away from.
