The intrinsic ability to understand and feel the emotions of others as if they were your own. Empaths naturally absorb the "feel of the room" and the emotions of individuals subconsciously. **The most stressful thing imaginable.** It is a double-edged-sword that allows the individual the ability to better understand others and therefore help them. On the other edge, empaths are more easily emotionally drained, and often lack groundedness in their own individuality, as their emotions are usually never their own. Empaths will almost unanimously say it sucks to be an empath and that they wish they didn't have to care, and they're right, it sucks. But it's a gift as much as it is a curse, so we may as well make some good from it. Empath have to be especially careful not to expose themselves to too much negativity, as they are more subject to its influence. Dark shows, scary movies, sad music, and so on all put empaths into a darker mood. And in a perverse humor of reality, empaths are usually naturally drawn to such dark melancholy, as a sort of twisted form of self-expression. Being an empath is the worst form of torture and the most stressful thing imaginable. Empath and stress go hand-in-hand.
