A phrase of encouragement to continue on a course of action, often related to driving, drinking alcohol, or fighting. Associated to Northern Ireland. Reports of the term being used by both sides of the sectarian divide, for example the IRA Active Service unit when attacking an SAS unit telling each other to “Keep ‘er lit” I.e keep firing, vs the Loyalist Rapper Young Spence using the phrase in relation to drinking on the track Straight Outta Belfast.
