Muhammedasur (मुहम्मद + असुर = मुहम्मदासुर also known as मुहम्मद-पैगंबर) is a demon mentioned in मुहम्मद पुराण, an lesser known ancient puranic text, who sows seeds of hatred, hypocrisy, anger, confusion, intolerance, pedophilia, violence etc. etc. etc. in the minds of a third of the world's population during the reign of king Harshavardhana (हर्षवर्धन) of Vardhana (वर्धन) dynasty. He is described to be 'a demon' from 'the lands to the west' whose influence would last on the minds of people few millennia after king Harshavardhana's death. Chinese traveler Xuanzang, born in present day Henan travelled to Kannauj & quoted मुहम्मद पुराण & मुहम्मदासुर in his travel diaries & the terror it would later create in the minds of the descendents of Harshavardhana's subjects for many millennia to come.
