The point at which, during a drug or alcohol based impairment, you reach a level where you know something has dramatically changed in your level if consciousness. In essence, the ‘moment of knowing’ that you have reached an altered state. Similarly, you can also pass unwittingly into this state and not be consciously aware of it. You may realize it the next day, or someone may have told you that you had definitely changed your mental state.
