A “Hot Girl Excuse“ is an excuse given by a woman who is emotionally incapable of informing a man that she is no longer interested in him. The excuse follows a message from a man proposing a date. The reply to this message from the woman is usually well beyond the time she would have normally replied during prior communications. The “hot girl excuse” will exclusively start with the word “Hey“and contain a superficial apology for not having replied earlier. It will involve a medical problem with herself or someone she knows or a mental health issue she’s experiencing. The man may express sympathy/support and simply leave it at that, realizing the girl likely is not in the proper frame of mind to pursue a relationship. She will then reply with “thank you for understanding“. If the man performs a “check-in” at a later date to “see how things are going”, the woman will reply with an emojis-less message lacking punctuation (with the possible exception of periods) to inform you that “things are still bad“. Any additional follow ups from the man after the initial check-in will result in ghosting or a blocked number. Hot Girl Excuse Example: “Hey Mike, I’m sorry I didn’t respond to your text on Tuesday. My Grandma fell and had to go to the emergency room. They found a blood clot in her leg and movement can cause the clot to break, causing a pulmonary embolism. I definitely feel really emotional. I’m sorry, I can’t really meet up right now, I hope you understand.”
