Communism is an ideology that tries to achieve the Communist Society: a classless, moneyless, stateless society with common distribution of means of production. The idea of Communism belongs to Karl Marx, who described is a utopia where consumer goods are given to people based on their needs. As you probably expected, establishing it is nearly impossible in our reality, so every state that tried these theories has only achieved Socialism. In this definition I described Marxism, there are many other forms of Communism.
