A loose association of anti-Vaxxer groups who engage in popular resistance to science. Antiva members recognize the state's refusal to take action against science and vaccines and are thus forced to take matters into their own hands to protect their communities freedom to infect others freely without interference. Antiva members are scientifically iliterate and have not studied or understood how vaccines are created or help protect entire populations from devastating diseases. They believe that Science and vaccines are fundamentally violent, dictatorial ideologies that must be avoided at all costs. The Republican Right encourage Antiva groups precisely because they challenge science, the social order and frustrate the ability of scientists and civil society to use vaccines as a prophylactic against pandemic level contagious disease. (AKA) Also Known As: Anti-Vaxxers Synonym: Anti-Vaxxer Antonym: Vaxxer
