Meatrients are the supposed nutrients in meat (and dairyitimens for dairy) which are supposedly lacking in vegan diets. While it is known that B12 is not found in plant based food products, blood tests typically show that stores in the body last up to four years in the absence of any new dietary intake. The common fear of eaters of animal products with respect to a vegan diet is that it will leave them nutrient deficient, due to the supposed lack of nutrients from a vegan diet.
