A portmanteau of Zombie Apocalypse and MAGA referring to to the Capitol Insurrection that took place in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2017. Incited by Donald Trump and Republicans contesting the legal 2020 presidential election of Joseph Biden, numerous MAGA supporters stormed the Capitol building trying to stop the certification of the 2020 votes taking place in the Senate Floor in order to reinstate Trump as President. In hypocritical contrast to the Blue Lives Matter slogan espoused by MAGA supporters as a means of silencing Black Lives Matter, mobs were recorded swarming and assaulting Capitol Police officers trying to contain them from reaching the Senate Floor. The term is used to describe how visually similar the insurrection was to a typical zombie apocalypse scenario, where a mindless horde of Trump supporters shambling on the streets was trying to get to survivors that had barricaded and hidden themselves inside a building- in this case the U.S. Capitol.
