The reason why piracy still exists. Even if the user buys a DRM protected game/DVD/CD legally, they will still suffer a fate worse than Hell. Some forms of DRM, such as SecuROM (commonly mocked as Suck-uROM) will force the user to re-register if any component of their computer is changed or weekly, some require you to be online while the game is running (even if it's single player only, like SimCity 2013), and at worst, some DRM can be straight up malware that can damage your PC or even prevent it from booting. DRM punishes everyone equally, both legal users and pirated copy users. Nobody is spared.
