A way of referring to actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. It’s widely used within the supernatural fandom as a whole and refers to them as a friends and/or coworkers in a platonic capacity. It’s simply a way to refer to both of them simultaneously without having to type/say “Jared and Jensen”. The term is derived from them sharing the same first name initial. A subset of the fandom use J2 as a ship name for the real person slash fiction pairing of Jared/Jensen. However the most common use of the phrase is platonic and not in any way related to shipping.
