Sanford & Son syndrome is when a man or a woman is in their 30s and still lives with their parents due to the parents being controlling during childhood and then later depending on the child when the parent becomes of elderly age, and the child does not have much of a social life due to the overbearing parent. Sanford & Son is a sitcom from the 1970s from 1972-1977, starring Redd Foxx, and Demond Wilson. The characters in the show do not entirely reflect the word and it's definition, however the similarities fit the narrative of the word and it's definition.
