FUD is an acronym for ‘Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt’ used in marketing to create a need. By creating a need based on FUD, you can then sell a ‘solution’ to mitigate the FUD which you have created. In this manner, you have created a market based on fear which heretofore did not exist, and you are then selling a solution which was heretofore not required!
