Pronounced "end rant." Reminiscent of various programming-esque chat-specific commands. Used when you've written a long rant and need some mental closure to assure yourself that you have indeed finished your rant, so that you can move on. Also serves as a signal to the reader that 1) the above text was in fact a rant and, therefore, has an underlying message that should be divorced from the passion and emotion that inevitably gave said text a mildly offensive or belligerent tinge; and 2) (especially during a lengthy back-and-forth) you do not intend to respond to any additional replies with a similarly equally long rant, because you've said your piece. Less emotional versions could include "/end" or "/fin," especially for serving purpose 2). The spelling "\rant" is erroneous.
