Verb, activity: taking leave of a situation that one has no actionable control or authority over in order to avoid the hardship of the situation. Derivation: taken from the name of Texas' Senator Ted Cruz, who made headlines by taking an impromptu trip to Mexico instead of sticking out the nationwide blizzard of February '21, which affected every state except Hawaii and Florida. Florida maintains that Florida Man held off the storm with an icy glare that cancelled out the warm front that might've otherwise collided with the storm, and hurled it southward.
