A slang term used in the Canadian Prairies to refer to an alcoholic whose favorite drink of choice comes from the medic aisle of Rexall. A rubbie is usually a bum who's too poor to afford actual alcohol and instead drinks Listerine or rubbing alcohol, hence the term 'rubbie'. Can also be used as a generic term for a bum.
