FAN stands for Flattery and Nostalgia. It's when someone tells you "Oh I had such a crush on you in high school, in college, etc" to try to butter you up to get you to like them now. It's usually from someone who wouldn't have given you the time of day back then, but now you're either better looking or more successful than them.
