The frequently used word "Hug" can have different meanings in contemporary spoken language. The most common meaning relates the word to expressions of warmth and friendliness but among other various meanings one in particular is noteworthy, namely the use of the term "Hug", especially in rap music related contexts, as a synonym for the term "Strangled". This usage seems to originate from mafia themed movies, within which some characters have threatened to strangle someone by saying "You're going to get a hug".
