The premature truncation of a romance arc between two characters on a television series by showing half the couple declaring love right before being pulled out of the story, then actually killing the other half of said couple before any reaction can be shown to confirm reciprocation. See also: Desti-edging (Urban Dictionary) See also: Schrödinger's Ship - when it's a canon-romantic couple due to overwhelming use of romance tropes and a love declaration from half the ship, but also left "open to interpretation" by viewers who want to see it as platonic because the writer(s) deliberately left it ambiguous by removing/killing the couple before the other half can respond to said love declaration and confirm reciprocation. See also: Dean Winchester/Castiel (from the television series "Supernatural")
