generation ranging from individuals born between the years 1997-2012/15. a vast majority of them stress the importance of mental health awareness and treating everyone with respect, but don’t hesitate to attempt to ruin individuals’ entire careers over statements they made 20 years ago. they encourage body positivity until an overweight girl is happily dancing on their fyp and they comment “just smile and scroll” or “be nice be nice be nice” in a sarcastic manner. they slam on past generations and the way they once acted, as well as act as though they’d much rather be dead than alive, even though they’re just as problematic. i’m a part of gen z, and let’s face it we’re all hypocritical, can’t stay off the phone for 2 seconds, stressed out from school, depressed kids. that being said, what generation has ever stood up for innocent lives, and supported individuals who have always been discriminated against like we have? what generation has rolled with the punches and stayed strong during a global pandemic? call me one of those people that wishes they were *born during a different time* or some shit like that, but i love this generation (and hate it a lot too). i wish we were more in tune with reality at times, and actually socialized without posting it everywhere, but hey, take what you can get.
