Pronounced Kook-sa-kraga. The smallest high peak out of the 46, often called “Couch” or “Couchie” for short. In order to access it, one must hike into the Santanoni range, which includes two other high peaks; Santanoni and Panther peaks. To hike up to higher elevation, then hike down into a large swamp. Couchsachraga has no view on the top and one must hike 800+ ft. up from Couchsachraga on the return trip. Widely considered one of the most unpopular high peaks to hike, aside from Mount Allen. Please do not do it unless you want to be a 46er, it’s simply not worth getting your feet soaked in a bog or getting lost on the herd paths.
