The purpose is to frighten other player to thinking they are a experienced player and make them play worse thinking they have already lost. The expected result is to get easy wins thinking they are skilled by tricking the other players and get wins. The outcome is shown pretty quickly when the obviously don't have the experience to keep up after a few games.
