When you, a friend, or anybody in the given situation says or does something that raises questions and/or awareness about what was said or done, stating “That’s 10” is a message to the entire group, (but with the focus of the offending person) that what they said was not socially acceptable and that a roast may be in order. The phrase derived from the military training in the United States. When a lower level subject says or does something that a commanding officer does not find acceptable, they may say “that’s 10” in reference to 10 push ups. In civilian culture, 10 push ups would be replaced with a discussion and/or roast about the subject
