Yoruba phrase meaning "speak up" or "speak louder". Also means "let your voice be heard", "stop beating around the bush", "go straight to the point", "hit the nail on the head", "don't sit on the fence". Origin: This phrase became popular during the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria in early October 2020. The deputy governor of a state was addressing enraged youths in a low tone when a young man shouted "sòrò sókè wèrè", meaning "speak louder madman".
