1. A slug is a mollusk, similar in appearance to a snail. They do not have shells like snails have, however some have a soft internal shell located under the mantle (a flap of skin near the slugs' head.) Salt kills them. They enjoy eating plants, animal feces (poop) and in some cases dead animals! They vary in size according to species, with some being as small as a penny to being as big as a 5 dollar foot long from Subway.
