(n.) - A vanilla dom, sometimes referred to as a “vanilla top” or “vanilla dom top,” is a dominant subtype in the BDSM lexicon. It’s usually associated withIn the gay male community, but not exclusively. Vanilla doms are generally characterized by sexual arousal and identity related to dominant behavior, sexual top position and traditional sexual roles within the gender binary. What makes them unique to the broader LGBT/BDSM community is their openness to monogamy and trend to a more heteronormative approach to relationships and life. They’re generally attracted submissive, smooth, younger partners. While it’s not absolute, generally they avoid classic (clamps, paddles, chains) BDSM gear, multiple partners, circuit parties, PNP, etc. Often they are high earners and avoid drugs and alcohol and value fitness, health and industriousness.
