A word used often in anthroposophical literature to describe spiritual influences. Luciferic beings have plagued humanity along with the destructive ahrimanic beings. They are spirits that should have dealt with the eternal alone but have strayed into the realm of time. Luciferic beings influence us to return to our own interests which may avoid a wretched philistinism but also influence us to loose interest in others. They present a personal soul nature of wisdom and temptation. It is only because of luciferic beings that we do not pursue incessant knowledge of everybody in our enviroment. In the case of "genuis," luciferic beings may latch on to an embryo for their own immortality.
