America it's a continent placed on the west of the earth, where such countries as México, Brasil, Puerto Rico and United States are located in. It's usually split in North America (Canada , U.S,México), Central America (Puerto Rico, El Salvador,Panamá,Cuba,etc.) and South America (Venezuela,Brasil,Argentina,Chile,Colombia, etc.). People tend to say that the U.S territory is America, but actually Americo Vespucio travelled and based his studies on what they knew at that time, which was mostly Latino América (South and Central). The continent was named after this scientist declared that he found a new country , so that´s why América it's not just the U.S
