A strong, existential hatred or distaste for the state of things, how things must be, or how things turn out to be, in the world we live in. From Greek “katástasi”, meaning “state”, and “miso”, meaning “hate”. Those who adopt a misostatic worldview are often seen as “negative nancies” or “debbie downers”, when in reality, they’re just acknowledging how the world actually is; a predominantly negative place.
