Pastel grunge, can also be associated with Soft Grunge or Pastel Goth, originated from Grunge movement in the early 1990s. With noticeable Gothic and Kawaii influences. Pastel grunge styles started to gain popularity in 2010, on social media such as Tumblr. It invoved cute fashions such as Pastel or soft color and grunge from contemporary subculture and gothic or Goth subculture. Pastel grunge is mostly considered to be fashion subculture that took an inspiration from grunge culture, as it has a few to do with grunge subculture, which is a music subculture.
