In gamin, Try-hard refers to those whose effort level and emotional investment are excessively high for the level of gaming in which they are playing in. Usually in hopes to emulate the essence of a professional gamer. A Wannabe TryHard attempts to portray themselves in this manner but with only a fraction of the effort and an exaggerated emotional investment. In other words, they'll hack/cheat/buy their way to a position that others have invested actual time and effort.
